This post will talk about my legal basis in claiming that the product I bought from Lazada is still under warranty. The content of this discussion is generally applicable to any claim for warranty covering a consumer good. In this case, I bought a laptop from Lazada.

How to get a refund from Lazada: Part 1 (What Happened)

This is the story of how I had to wait 4 months for Lazada to comply with its legal obligation to honor its warranty on a defective product I bought from the site.

I wasn’t idle for those 4 months. Every step of the way I had to prod, complain and explain my side to indifferent customer service representatives. I pointed out that their inaction was illegal and even then the people I spoke to could have cared less.

This is a story of yet another company which spends a lot on marketing and looking good but whose attention to image, from my experience, doesn’t extend to care for customers.

In the end I got my money back. You can too.
